Agent and customer wallets for travel booking
Every account on Nodes Travels, agent or customer, has a wallet. It is a simple, auditable ledger that you control from the admin. Here is precisely how it behaves.
How money enters and leaves a wallet
| Entry type | Who triggers it |
|---|---|
| Admin credit | You, from the customer's page in the admin |
| Admin debit (adjustment) | You; it cannot take the balance below zero |
| Refund | You, when you record a refund to wallet |
| Promotional credit | You, as a goodwill or campaign credit |
| Loyalty points converted | The account holder, when they redeem points |
| Affiliate commission | Paid out from approved affiliate earnings |
| Used for a booking | The account holder, at checkout |
| Returned to wallet | Reversal when a wallet-paid booking is reversed |
Balance is always the sum of the ledger. Money never enters from the browser.
At checkout
Partial or full payment
The wallet pays as much of a booking as the balance covers; the rest goes to a normal payment method.
Fully paid means confirmed
If the wallet covers the whole amount, the booking is marked paid straight away, and auto-ticketing runs if you enabled it.
Safe against double spending
Wallet use runs in a database transaction, so two browser tabs cannot spend the same balance.
History for both sides
Account holders see their wallet in their account; you see the full ledger on the customer page.
Using it as an agent deposit account
A common B2B pattern works today: the agent sends you funds by bank transfer, you credit their wallet with a note, and they book against that balance at B2B prices.
Because only admins can credit a wallet, there is a human check on every top-up.
- Agent pays you offline
- You record an admin credit with a reference note
- Agent books; wallet is debited automatically
- Refunds can go back to the wallet
Frequently asked questions
Is the wallet only for agents?
No. Every account has one. Customers receive refunds, promotions, loyalty conversions and affiliate commissions in it too.
Can I see who changed a balance?
Yes. Each admin entry stores which admin made it, and the admin activity log records actions.
Which edition includes wallets?
Agency and Enterprise.
